Typically we work in a team fashion with surgical implant specialists, either a periodontist or an oral surgeon. They begin the process of tooth replacement via implants by diagnoses and consultation with you, preliminary jaw bone preparation and then implant placement and follow-up. Once the specialist has determined that your implant and tissues are ready for crown(s) then Dr Clusserath and staff work with you. At that point, our office will complete the process by attaching an implant crown to the fixture.
For those individuals who use a denture, multiple fixtures can be placed in the jaw allowing an entire denture to be attached. Gone are the days of lose, floating lower dentures!
Not everyone is a candidate for a dental implant and crown. For a successful implant to take hold, a candidate must have proper bone density and have a strong immune system. In all cases, dental implants require strict oral hygiene.
